This Privacy Policy explains how WeftKit (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you visit weftkit.com, and how the WeftKit desktop app treats the data it works with. The short version: the app is local-first, and this website collects very little.

The desktop app

WeftKit is a local-first application. Recordings, test suites, reports, evidence, and cost ledgers are stored as files on your machine, under your control. We operate no backend for the app: it has no account system, no hosted storage, and no telemetry service run by us.

• Secrets — passwords, API keys, and access tokens you give the app are stored in your operating system’s credential vault and an encrypted file in WeftKit’s private data directory, so an updated app can still read them back. They never enter suites, logs, or reports, and are never sent to any AI provider.
• AI requests — if you enable AI repair, a bounded repair request is sent to the provider you configured, under your own key or account. That traffic goes directly from your machine to your chosen provider and is governed by your agreement with them. With local runtimes (Ollama, LM Studio) at the default loopback endpoint, it never leaves your machine at all.
• Git remotes — if you connect a project to a remote and push, the committed project files go to that remote. Generated ignore rules keep secrets and heavy evidence out of commits by default.

This website

We collect limited information to operate and improve the website, including:

• Information you send us — such as your email address and message when you contact us at hello@weftkit.com.
• Usage information — anonymized, privacy-friendly analytics about how visitors use the site, in aggregate. We do not build advertising profiles.
